We hope your family has had a safe and healthy summer! As flu season approaches, we’d like to share some important information about scheduling your child’s flu shot.
We have plenty of flu shots available, along with the Moderna COVID vaccine for children ages 6 months to 12 years.
You can easily schedule a flu shot through your online patient portal (look for the provider labeled flu shots) or by calling our office at 202-758-3210. As a reminder, children between 6 months and 8 years old who have never received the flu vaccine will need two doses, spaced at least four weeks apart.
In addition to our usual flu shot hours, we’ll be hosting our annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat Celebration on Saturday, October 25th, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, where flu shots will also be offered. Children are encouraged to come in costume—we’ll be welcoming them with plenty of fun surprises… plus one tiny trick: their flu shot! 🎃👻🍬
Flu shots will also be available during regularly scheduled visits (check-ups, med checks, sick visits, etc.). Parents can get vaccinated too for an out-of-pocket fee of $60 (a receipt will be provided for insurance reimbursement). When scheduling or checking in, just let your greeter know if you’d like to receive a flu shot—this will help us streamline the process for your family.
For patients who are particularly needle-averse, we also offer FluMist (nasal spray). Supplies are limited, so please let us know when scheduling if you’d prefer this option.
