Our Team

Dr. Milagros Ariza

Truly a community physician, Dr. Ariza has been a pediatrician in DC’s West End for over two decades and has worked extensively with the city’s English and Spanish speaking families.

Dr. Ariza did her residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Beth Israel Medical Center in 1995, moved to Washington DC and worked at Sibley Memorial Hospital in the Neonatology Department prior to starting in private practice.
Dr. Ariza is a child advocate and a lifelong supporter of the LGBTQ community.  She is a Board Certified Pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is faculty at the George Washington School of medicine and was awarded the best community pediatric award in 2019 for her commitment to teaching medical students.

She has been featured in several DC-area publications as a top physician and heads a non-profit organization in the Dominican Republic that provides care to children afflicted with Rheumatologic illnesses.

Katelyn “Kata” Cioffi, MSN, CPNP-PC

Kata is a North Carolina native who moved to Washington, DC with her husband nearly 10 years ago. She attended Duke University, where she earned both her undergraduate nursing degree and her Master’s in Nurse Practitioner studies. Before joining West End Pediatrics, Kata worked as a nurse practitioner at another private practice in DC. As a registered nurse, she gained experience in Children’s National Emergency Department, the NICU, and Women’s Services at George Washington University Hospital. In addition to her role as a pediatric nurse practitioner, she is also a lactation consultant (IBCLC) and enjoys supporting families on their breastfeeding journey.When Kata isn’t at work, she loves spending time outdoors on long runs, gardening in her backyard, reading a good book, or going on adventures with her husband.

 

Elizabeth Schaubert, MSN, CPNP-PC

Elizabeth is a Washington, DC native who moved back after attending Duke University in North Carolina for her undergraduate and nursing programs. She worked for several years at Children’s National Hospital in hematology/oncology and then attended  Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, for her master’s degree. She specializes in the care of children from international backgrounds and speaks Spanish fluently as a result of her travels and education.

During her free time, Elizabeth spends as much as she can with her husband, two young daughters and her friends, and enjoys  traveling, trying new restaurants and spending time outside when it’s nice out.
