Due to recent measles cases reported in Washington, DC, we are recommending early measles vaccination for certain age groups as a precaution.
• Infants 6–11 months: may receive an early measles (MMR) vaccine. Please note that this dose does not count toward the routine 12-month vaccination, and your child will still need the standard doses at 12 months and at 4 years of age.
• Children 2 years and older: may choose to receive an early booster dose. This dose can count toward the routine 4-year vaccinations, so it would not need to be repeated at that time.
